Cariño G synthesizes the most desirable qualities of both his sire and dam lines into a Holsteiner sporthorse with unmatched talent, style and versatility.

His father, Caretino, is considered one of the best sires in Holstein breeding, with successful approved offspring in Dressage (e.g., Cheenook, Carpaccio and Cokney) and Show Jumping (Caretano, Ballerina). Known for his outstanding jumping technique, Caretino won numerous young horses classes before making Grand Prix and Nations Cup appearances. After retiring to the breeding shed, Caretino sired 37 licensed sons and 41 state premium daughters, 10 of whom were awarded a Verband premium designation. Without a doubt, Cristallo, ridden by America’s Richard Spooner, is one of Caretino’s most outstanding offspring in competition today.

From his dam’s side, Cariño inherits traits from the phenomenal Riverman. Riverman began his career by winning his stallion test at Ermelo in 2001. He competed successfully as a 1.40m jumper, before turning to dressage in 2005. It is Riverman’s offspring, though, that set him apart as a truly exceptional sire. His progeny are talented jumpers and beautiful, supple movers with fantastic minds. We rarely see the results that Riverman’s offspring have produced in so many different venues and at all levels of competition.
